This design freeze frames the buzz of activity that is stirred at dusk in Southern Africa, capturing the erratic flight of the Carmine Bee-eaters as they use the last rays of light to feast.
Illustrating the South Africa’s Knysna Loerie’s swift flying movements between the forest trees was the motivation for this design. The Knysna Loerie was inspired by a recent visit to South Africa, depicting the Knysna Loerie in flight.
A symbolic native from South Africa, with tall graphic stems, created the perfect inspiration for a symmetrically pleasing design. The Strelitzia Tropical design is inspired by the very graphic Strelitzia or Bird of Paradise flower.
A beautiful bouquet of King Proteas inspired me to illustrate these majestic flowers, creating a stylish design with an elaborate elegant feel.
