The Sanctuary Lines Collection has been inspired by our human need to create an oasis in our personal space. Taking inspiration from nature is always my starting point. For this collection, I explored the curves and shadows of contours in the sand, the dimensionality of woven grasses, and the pliability of clay. All these textural elements played a role in these designs that bring us back to earth, back to nature, and back to ourselves. Delving into the elemental architectural influences of arcs, curves, textures, hemisphere, and polarity has resulted in these twelve designs that encompass and transcend design influences and eras, and yield a calm sophistication. I have kept the colour-ways simple and complimentary to each other and to the essence of this collection. This collection has been developed in parallel with a mosaic and natural stone tile collection that will compliment the textiles and wallpaper designs, giving interior designers the option of appointing visually cohesive pairings across both soft and hard mediums.
With rounded geometric attributes, this design is simple and organic in a linear way, created to add the essence of calm and stability to any space.
Inspired by the elemental architectural influences of arcs, this knitted composition of arches creates a horizontal stripe that bends and flows.
In the stillness of windswept sand dunes, the grasses blow and bend in the wind displaying their flexibility, this was my inspiration for this design as we embrace texture in a simple linear design.
Just like the tides we are affected by the phases of the moon, I felt it important to reflect the importance of embracing our connection to the night sky in all its phases, and how this influences our moods and our energy.
Taking time to connect to nature, feeling the grains of sand slipping through our hands, raking the sand with our fingers, feeling the warmth of the sand we recognise that we need to slow down to appreciate all the natural beauty around us.
Textures and woven grasses create nature-inspired dimensions, resulting in a sophisticated design.
Cycles and phases of this celestial being bring us back to the ancient art of recognising the waxing and waning of the moon cycles.
Inspired by the ancient tradition of beautifying our spaces with a mosaic textural surface was the starting point for this design.
From below we observe solar rays radiate through the clouds as they create beautiful sun rays that light our earth and create an ethereal light, peaceful and magical.
Across a panoramic and abundant starlit sky, one notices the multitude of stars high above that reminds us that we are all connected and part of a bigger universe.
Simplicity can bring us back to the earth, combining single strands created this striped design.
This design took inspiration from interlacing grass fibres to create a dimensionally woven texture both natural and handmade in nature.
